I love the Gorge! My Father grew up playing in this Park. When we were little, matter where we lived, Mom and Dad would get bread, potted meat, and some drink concentrate. Then all 6 of us would walk to the Gorge, play there all day, and then walk home. Best days ever! But, they put in wooden steps to the waterfall. Safer, but not as much fun.

This is a great park for hiking. You can always see the river. You can see a dam on the gorge trail. Cross the street though and you will see a fantastic view of rock cliffs and water ways that work their way down the cliff. There are many deer here. Near the rock cliffs the ledge is a steep drop off at points and the trail is narrow in some spots. For younger children I'd go to the gorge trail and not cross the street from the parking lot.

We walked on the west side, Highbridge Trail, under the electric towers and lines. Not sure where other reviewers were hiking. Our views of the waterfall by the dam were blocked by thick trees. Once we were past the high bridge the wires were gone leaving a nice easy walk with the sound of water over rapids. It was a 1.5 mile walk to the stairways leading to the lower path by the water. Very pretty.

This is a wonderful and very exciting hike along a cliff. Wear good shoes and be careful if it has rained lately (take extra care on tree roots and rocks). Rock formations and waterfalls abound. It’s worth a visit for sure.

Absolutely beautiful views of the waterfalls, and a short hike to the caves which are incredible to go to. My son loved climbing through the rocks and watching rock climbers, we learned about the cave and how it got its name, as well as what the waterfall was used for. This is the perfect hike during the fall while the leaves are changing.
