This is the BEST Hobbyshop in the state of Illinois. They invariably will have the parts that I need or can obtain them within a day. When my grand children are not breaking my toys, I am. The staff at HobbyTown St Charles have diagnosed and repaired countless R/C cars and airplanes for me.
They also make great recommendations. I wanted an R/C car that a 6 year old could proudly operate without breaking. He didn't want a "baby" car and appreciated getting a "real" R/C car.
A few days ago I told the owner, Jeremy, that I wanted a trainer airplane that could handle the current wind speeds of 15+ MPH. Without hesitation, he recommended a plane that I was skeptical of. Of course, he was correct, as usual.
I can't say enough good about this shop and it's staff.
Great place, in the age of Amazon it's getting harder and harder to find local hobby shops. Glad thier making it work. Great selection of models and supplies.
I come from Lincoln, Nebraska where Hobbytown got its start. The Nebraska stores have all types of advanced games and cards plus an area to get together to play those games. They also have a multitude of educational kits. Very few of them at this location. It has mostly models and trains and a few puzzles . No reason for me to visit here again.
They had everything but the Mr. Hobby topcoat I was looking for -- a pretty solid shopping experience nevertheless.
Bought my first RC car here. I Had an issue with it after the first week and they were able to diagnose and fix it right away.
