I have loved this beach and its surroundings. It's not crowded, and it has good waves.
There are beautiful and unique houses too.
We went in August so there was a lot of algae. The water temperature was amazing though.
The distance to get to the beach itself is perfect (not as in Santa Monica or other LA beaches where you'll walk a lot on the sand before touching the water)
Great beach. No hard boards (surfing). Large paid parking lot - or street parking with a downhill trek. Jetty and bluffs to climb around on. Designated swim zone beyond the wave break. Friendly and fantastic life guards. Snack shack and showers. Limited fire pits. And on a nice summer day, it's totally packed.
Enjoyed! Since I have not been back for 30 yrs! Very busy, come early! Parking is crazy, But nice view. Get too see the boats that come out from the marina. Swimming was awesome!! Nothing like salt water cleansing your body. Felt so good, relaxing. Enjoy the beach.
The waves and water are really nice when warm. Just be careful how close you are to where the wave crashes- twisted a muscle cause I was too close. The beach is really beautiful and has a great snack bar. Also, there are plenty of shells in the shallows. Just be aware, there are a few stingrays here and there.
Water is clearer than Seal Beach I can say. Then sand is not as rocky as San Clemente Beach. One of my favorite beaches...great for kids. Plenty of parking space. I paid at least $15.00 for 3 hours. Really enjoyed the beach.
