Please pick up your garbage! We love this lake, but we are finding more and more, the users are not keeping it clean. Bring a garbage bag with you and help keep Az beautiful!
Great place.. A fun hike down but a little tricky on the way up
It is sad how much over use wrecks a beautiful location. Spent my weekend camping off of FR 76 as far back as I could go for peace and quite. What I got was a group of 60+ people from a group making excessive noise and tearing up the already rough roads.The trash was stagering, clearly too many recreational users who don't get "pack it in, pack it out, leave it better than you find it" motto. I filled an industrial garbage bag of plastic bottles, beer caps, toilet paper, various trash that was all over, even near the primative roads of FR 76E and 76C.
Each time coming here we do very well catching trout. sometimes the camping area gets way too crowded but I guess that's what happens when there's 7 million people in a valley a couple hours away. Time to move back North a couple States..
Road to get back there is a washboard from hell for miles but once you are there we found plenty of campsites and a short walk to the lake.
